Professional Profile:
Luigi Zingales is Robert C. McCormack Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance at the University of Chicago.
He’s one of the typical Italian brains, who migrated abroad and, together with other 5 Italians, he is listed in the 100 first world economists’ list. He is one of the foremost academic experts on corporate governance and inaugural fellow of the recently instituted European Corporate Governance Panel.
Luigi Zingales has been teaching at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago, first as an assistant, then as associate professor, now as full professor. He has many affiliations: he’s been Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research, Fellow of the European Corporate Governance Institute and Director of the American Finance Association.
He received many awards, among which, in 2002, the Nasdaq award for the best paper in capital formation, in 2003 the Bernacer Prize for the best European young economist, and the Fama – DFA Prize for Capital Markets and Asset Pricing.
He has written many papers and articles and collaborates with Sole 24 Ore and Espresso. His book, Saving Capitalism from the Capitalists, is an innovative, thought-provoking analysis of the capitalist system, and moves understanding far beyond the stereotypical arguments of the right and the left.
