Rachele Sangiuliano
Former volleyball player
sports commentator and motivational speaker
Born in San Donà di Piave (VE) on June 23, 1981, Rachele is a former volleyball player, played as a setter and has 106 appearances with the Italian national team.
She approached the world of sports through swimming, which she practiced competitively from a very young age.
Volleyball, however, captured her at the age of 9: in fact, she fell in love with the Japanese cartoon “Mila and Shiro,” and her childhood dream was to wear the number 7 jersey of the Italian National Team just as Mila wore that of Japan.
Her first call-up to the national team came at the age of 14 and from there she wore the national team jersey until 2003, even winning a World Cup with the senior national team in 2002.
Rachele does not call herself a talented player, but she has always believed in hard work, dedication, and determination, characteristics that have led her to achieve her goals.
Volleyball has taught her to “play as a team,” partly because of the responsible role she has held. The setter, in fact, must know how to put himself completely at the service of the team, and put his teammates in the best possible conditions while also knowing how to choose the right moment.
