Marc Lazar is a French Professor of Political History and Sociology at Sciences Po (Paris).
In this University he is the director of the Centre d’Histoire and President of the Advisory Board. He is also professor at Luiss University-Guido Carli (Rome) where he is President of the Advisory Board of the School of Government.
Jean Monnet Fellowship at the European University Institute in 1986-1987, he has been Associate Professor at Stanford University Program of Paris from 1994 to 2005. He has been invited for teaching in different universities in Europe as in USA.
He has been for a long time member Council of the French Association of Political Science. He is member of three Advisory boards of European Universities and of several editorial or advisory boards of French, Italian, European and American academic journals. He is President of the Association for Political History. He is an expert for Italian Universities.
His main research are on Politics in Italy and France, Comparative Politics in European Union, especially on Populism, and European Left.
He published 24 books and 195 articles in French, Italian, English, German, Romanian in academical journals.
He is Cavaliere ufficiale della Repubblica italiana and Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur.
