Michele Boldrin is Professor of Economics in Arts and Sciences And Chair of the Department of Economics at Washington University in St Louis. Amongst other teaching experiences he has been Professor at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and Marc Rich Professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
Professor Boldrin has received numerous honours and holds various professional activities. He is Academic Director of the Salamanca Social Science Festival, Member of the Board of Directors, IMDEA – Social Sciences, Member of the Scientific Committee of the Adam Smith Society, Director of “Catedra Repsol” (FEDEA, Madrid) and Member of the Scientific Advisory Board, SUM-NISA. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR, London and at the Federal Reserve Bank of Saint Louis. He is an Associate Editor of Econometrica, an Associate Editor, then Editor, then Associate Editor Review of Economic Dynamics, and Advisory Editor of Macroeconomic Dynamics.
Moreover, he is Editorialist for El Pais, ABC, La Vanguardia (Spain), Il Fatto (Italy) and Editor from noiseFromAmerika.org.
His research interests include growth, innovation, and business cycles; intergenerational and demographic issues; public policy; institutions; and social norms.
He is the coauthor or coeditor of four books and has published in leading journals such as the American Economic Review, Econometrica, the Review of Economic Studies, the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Economic Theory, the Review of Economic Dynamics, the Journal of Monetary Economics, and the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.
