Massimo Roj graduated in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milan in 1986.
With over 30 years of experience, in 1994 he founded Progetto CMR in Milan, where he holds the position of Managing Director. In the company, considered today one of the largest Italian integrated design firms with 10 offices worldwide, he provides consultancy in Urban Planning, Architecture, Space Planning and Interior Design.
He has worked with major Italian and international companies, including Cisco, JP Morgan, Covivio, DHL, Air France-KLM, HP, Huawei, Generali, Unipol Group, Coca Cola, Canon, Campari, L’Oreal, Maccaferri, and also with the Public Administration both in Italy and abroad.
Under his leadership, Progetto CMR expands its core business and establishes Progetto Design & Build, specializing in office design, BIM Factory, dedicated to BIM design, and Sportium, focused on the design and construction of sports facilities.
He was among the first to promote in Italy of the integrated approach to design, an interdisciplinary model which combines architecture, engineering and design and which aims to maximize efficiency in terms of time, cost and quality of the final result.
Ambassador of Italian design in the world since 2017, appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he integrates sustainable strategies to create flexible, efficient and sustainable architecture inspired by the context and closely linked to users’ expectations. His projects show a holistic approach based on the “Less ego more Eco” philosophy, less personal interest and more attention to the community.
Visiting Professor at Tianjin and Jiaotong University, he regularly participates as a speaker at conferences on architecture and sustainability, on which he has also written numerous publications both in Italy and abroad, and often holds training courses on the subject.
