Jeremy Rifkin è Presidente della Foundation on Economic Trends di Washington che si occupa dello studio degli impatti economici, ambientali, sociali e culturali delle nuove tecnologie introdotte nell’economia globale.
È consigliere di numerosi capi di stato e funzionari governativi in tutto il mondo e negli ultimi trent’anni ha anche tenuto conferenze in più di 500 università di 20 diversi paesi, oltre ad essere stato consulente di Romano Prodi, quando questi era Presidente della Commissione Europea.
Dal 1994, è membro del Wharton School’s Executive Education Program cui partecipano Amministratori di società e top manager provenienti da tutto il mondo, dove affronta tematiche quali: nuovi trends economici e scientifici ed il loro impatto sull’economia globale, la società e il territorio.
Pubblica mensilmente articoli nelle principali testate mondiali, quali The Los Angeles Times negli USA, The Guardian nel Regno Unito, Die Suddeutsche Zeitung e Welt am Sonntag in Germania, L’Espresso in Italia, El Pais in Spagna, Le Monde in Francia e Al-Ittihad negli Emirati Arabi Uniti. È anche autore di diciassette libri sull’impatto dei cambiamenti scientifici e tecnologici sull’economia, la forza lavoro, la società e l’ambiente. I suoi libri sono stati tradotti in più di 20 lingue e vengono utilizzati in centinaia di università in tutto il mondo.
È stato, inoltre, ospite di numerosi programmi televisivi come CNN’s Crossfire, Face the Nation, The Lehrer News Hour, 20/20, Larry King Live, Today e Good Morning America.
Il National Journal lo ha incluso nella lista delle 150 persone che hanno maggiormente influenzato la politica governativa federale.
